Grass not wood
All Bamboo Laminated Plank Flooring, a new flooring material in its natural state, is harder than Northern Red Oak. Some of its characteristics include having three layers, factory finished with 3 coats of 100% solid UV cured acrylic urethane, and such excellent stability that it can only be surpassed by Mesquite, with a dimensional change coefficient being 0.00144. The structural integrity of Bamboo Flooring is excellent.
Why Bamboo Instead of Wood?
Bamboo as a flooring material for its durability and stability, and also because of its environmental friendliness. It is also stronger, more flexible, versatile, and abrasion resistant than wood.
Enviromentally Friendly
Because bamboo is a grass, no natural hardwood trees are cut down in producing our flooring. With over 1000 species of bamboo, the MOSSO species has been chosen, which harvests for 3 to 5 years. Additionally, other species have been carefully selected which have been aged for 6 years. Because of bamboo¡¯s extensive root system that continually grows underground, it replenishes itself naturally, as grass does. New growth, which springs out of the ground and can mature up to 24" in 24 hours, is thinned out and canned to be used for products such as chopsticks, doors, plywood sheeting, flooring, furniture, scaffolding, window blinds, and countless other uses. Unlike trees, which die when harvested, bamboo regenerates itself, making it a renewable resource.
